Yesterday (30-01-25), we had the pleasure of welcoming Karen Iizuka, a high school teacher from
Japan, to the State Public Library and Research Centre, Kozhikode. She was particularly
drawn to our collection of books on herbs and plants, flipping through pages with the
kind of curiosity that only true book lovers have. As we helped her find books on
medicinal herbs and plants, she shared how much she loved discovering new places.
She spoke fondly of the local food and the places she had visited, appreciating the
vibrant atmosphere around her. There was something heart warming about this
exchange ,a shared appreciation for knowledge, culture, and the simple joys of reading.
Moments like these makes the library more than a place for books, turning the library a
space that bring people, culture, and knowledge together.
